Enjoy Stylish Features & Amenities
The living is easy at our Napili Honokowai rentals, where everything you need is right at your fingertips. Most of our Napili rentals come equipped with a full kitchen, making it easy to prepare meals and keep favorite snacks and drinks on hand. Comfortable beds and linens help you get a good night’s sleep so you can take full advantage of each day. While you’ll want to browse our listings for specific details in each unit, features such as vaulted ceilings, recessed lighting, modern tropically inspired décor, and large windows that let in plenty of natural light and tropical breezes are found in many of our rentals. Most of our accommodations also offer a lanai, an extended outdoor living space perfect for sipping coffee at the start of your day.
Experience a Day in Napili-Honokowai
Wake in the morning to the ocean beckoning from your window when you stay in one of our Napili-Honokowai vacation rentals on the oceanfront. If you’ve picked up some tropical fruit and local coffee beans the day before, it’s easy to enjoy a tropical breakfast on the lanai while you decide how to spend your day. If you’re not already stocked up with grocery items, head to Napili Coffee Store instead, where you can get your day jumpstarted with caffeine. Located in Napili Plaza, it will be just a few minutes’ drive to this quaint café. They offer both Kona coffee and the Maui-grown Kaanapali Coffee, so this is a great place to get a local Hawaiian brew. With over 30 coffees on offer, there’s no lack of choices at Napili Coffee Store. Start your day with a steaming cup or go for the ice blended variety. Non-coffee drinkers will enjoy the fresh smoothies. Deli items and baked goods are all available for your choosing! Sit in to enjoy or bring your breakfast down the road to the famed Napili Bay, where you can enjoy the day along this top Maui beach.
Napili Bay is consistently listed among some of the top beaches on the island. Although this golden crescent shaped bay is home to some beachfront resorts, you will find that it is a bit more low-key than some of the other beaches on the island. When the waves are calm, this beach provides clear and pleasant swimming conditions. The ocean bottom near shore is soft and sandy, while a reef is present further offshore. This allows for swimming and boogie boarding along the shore without concern of reef or rocks. During calm seas, it’s also feasible to don a mask and snorkel and explore West Maui’s underwater world along the reef. If you’re not up for snorkeling, you can still enjoy some of Maui’s most favored wildlife—green sea turtles—as they frequent the bay and can often be seen resting along the shoreline. If you stay at Napili Bay Beach until sunset, you’ll be treated with a breathtaking color display over the ocean!
Once you’re ready for lunch or dinner, several great options for dining line the stretch between Napili Bay and Napili-Honokowai, including Maui Brewing Company, great for both a good bite and a drink to end the day!
Exploring Greater Maui
Though there is so much to offer in Napili-Honokowai, you may want to spend a day or two exploring some of Maui’s well-known attractions situated in other areas of the island. The great thing about vacationing in Maui is that the island is small, so you can easily see top attractions with day trips from your sunny west coast base.
If you set out early in the morning, one possible day trip from Napili-Honokowai is the famed Road to Hana. If you plan to do any hiking on your Maui getaway, you may consider some of the trails found along this renowned road trip route. The Pipiwai Trail to Waimoku Falls is a popular option, with stunning views along the way. It is located within Haleakala National Park, although it is found along the island’s eastern coast, rather than at the summit or crater where many of the other park trails are located. Past Ohe’o Gulch and the Seven Sacred Pools, the Pipiwai Trail winds its way from the coastline through lush tropical rainforest and then through a visually stunning bamboo forest. At 1.8 miles in each direction and little elevation gain, the views along the Pipiwai Trail are well worth the level of effort required.
The first falls you will encounter are the Falls at Makahiku, cascading 200 feet into the valley below. From here the trail continues to wind its way through the forest, past a giant banyan tree and eventually transitioning into a bamboo forest. This part of the trail is particularly beautiful, with towering bamboo creaking in the breeze as far as the eye can see, and a winding boardwalk trail winding its way through the forest’s midst. The trail finally concludes at a 400-foot sheer cliff, from which Waimoku Falls tumbles down from above. Signs are posted here to caution hikers against the possibility of falling boulders. The cool mist of the waterfall is the perfect refresher before retracing your steps back to the start.
Continuing along the Road to Hana, there are countless other vistas to take in both from the comfort of your vehicle and with a little exploration. Waianapanapa State Park and its black sand beach and cliffside trails is another beautiful spot where it is well worth putting on the hiking shoes in favor of doing further exploration. Though it does entail some driving, exploring the Road to Hana is possible from your Napili-Honokowai rental!
